Background

Viva Climate allows businesses within their network to track, analyze and ultimately mitigate their carbon footprint. The value is in their technology--users can monitor their footprint in real-time to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement. Their mission statement is simple “Offset all carbon emitted from online purchases”. There’s only one problem: nobody is using it.

The Problem

It started with an overhaul of our merchant dashboard--more robust and accurate analytics. This was revenue boosting. The new features would catapult us to the next level--a step higher above the competition. However, before users could access these features, they had to overcome the obstacle that was an outdated onboarding process, which was, one of high frustration and a huge roadblock for many users.

Limited engineering bandwidth and conflicting business requirements lead to onboarding to be lower on the priority. As a result, we were left with lackluster user onboarding which was directly leading to significant drop off. With a newly implemented EPD (Engineering, Product and Design) team, it was time for a complete overhaul while acknowledging the limited bandwidth of the engineering team.

Highlights:

Conduct market research for low-code solutions
Along with Product Manager and Director of Design, interview product representatives for a low-code solution.
Scripting and validating revamped user flow for onboarding
Set up custom triggers for further tracking and analytics within tooling
Along with some input from team members, and our front-end engineer, lead the implementation and maintenance of low-code solution
Present and gather feedback from stakeholders
